The Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program is a competitive program using a combination of statewide and county ranking systems to fund the most environmentally beneficial projects.

The Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program provides financial incentives to develop habitat for fish and wildlife on private land. Participants agree to implement a wildlife habitat development plan and USDA agrees to provide cost-share assistance for the initial implementation of wildlife habitat development practices. The agreement is for five to ten years.
