Conservation Buffer Initiative

The purpose of the Conservation Buffer initiative is to advocate the use of buffers to help protect our nation’s streams and rivers. The program uses cost share programs such as CRP and EQIP to encourage farmers to install needed buffers. The goal of this nationwide campaign is to install 2 million acres of buffers by the year 2000.
