Every year, citizens across the United States celebrate May as Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.  On May 28, USDA and district employees commemorated Asians and Pacific Islanders in style at the Georgetown Service Center.  Employees hosted a potluck luncheon where individuals tried their luck in preparing a dish from the Asian culture.  Employees used many different recipes, which resulted in plenty of food for everyone.  Some of the items included Hawaiian chicken and shrimp kabobs, pineapple chicken, tropical chicken salad, Asian shrimp salad and a host of desserts.

There were cultural factoids and information throughout the room about the contributions and successes of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. “The event turned out to be a big success. I’d like to thank all who participated,” said Ziggy Savage, Asian American/ Pacific Islander Emphasis Program Manager.
